Strategic Human Capital Consulting

Our Team

Strategic Human Capital Consulting operates in association with a number of consultants who we call on depending on the nature of an engagement. We share a passion and commitment to facilitating individual and organisational growth in a significant and sustainable manner. We want to unlock and ignite the human energy in organisations and through this build amazing companies that consistently achieve their business strategies.

Danie EksteenDanie Eksteen... started Strategic Human Capital Consulting in 2007 after an MBA qualification through the Universities of Cape Town and Washington, Seattle – facilitated a redirection of his career towards the strategic role of human capital in organisational success.

He is a member of the Worth Ethic Global Network of Coaches.

What I love most about my work... is crafting and implementing novel and sustainable people solutions that really make a difference. I equally enjoy the elements of analysing an organisation’s culture and people processes; designing appropriate solutions/ programmes; and implementing these in collaboration with management. I love working with people either in one-on-one coaching relationships or when facilitating a group workshop/process.

One of the things I love most about South Africa... is the fascinating rich diversity of people. In our Diversity Workshops we often hear people say things like, “I have always seen you in the corridors, but I never realised you had such a beautiful heart”, and “I never realised that white (or black) people struggle with the same challenges as we do”. It is an amazing experience to see people really connect and say, “Namaste”, I see your heart!

My baby boy probably thinks I am... a chef and a singer! When not in the office all he sees me do is singing lullabies and cooking. Hmm, I am terrible at the first (though he seems to still like it) and much better at the second.

I manage to stay in shape... thanks to cycling and the Argus cycling race. Despite challenging years like the ‘Storm of ‘09’ you always go back.

My favourite alone time... is spent with my wife: camping somewhere in the mountains, exploring an art museum or cooking up a storm. I am lucky to be married to my best friend.

My friends will describe me as... someone who spends a lot of time thinking and exploring difficult issues.

Some of the defining moments in my life... include leaving the safety of a successful professional career to pursue another (‘the Monk that kept his Landrover’); the pain of a failed marriage; being struck by lightning – literally; doing an MBA with amazing people; the paediatrician informing us that our newborn son is perfect and healthy.

I find my hope... in a Creator God
